i was going to say, you're supposed to make sure the bars on a crib are close enough together that your child's head cannot fit in it, therefore reducing the need for a bumper pad. i believe the distance between the bars are supposed to be a coke can width.

Bumper pads for me was to keep the baby from rolling over and bumping it's head on the bars. Plus it blocks the baby's site when you want to sneak a peak... if there wasn't one.. when you open their door they would see you right away.

I always took ours out when they started pulling up to stand. The baby can stand on that and get out. lol

I also wanted to tell you.. to save money... we always got solid colored things that matched the basic big item we want from a theme. Comprehendo? We got a the theme bumper and diaper stacker... but then got plain sheets and curtains and other things that accented the colors off the theme. It was WAAAAAAAAAY cheaper. Plus.. some stuff is just pointless. Bedskirts, comforters.. we never used those.
