about your latest poll... we always had bumper pads. they tie to the side of the crib so they aren't dangerous but as far as i'm concerned, unless you have a squirmy baby, they aren't necessary.

My boys loved to sleep with their heads in the corner of the crib, so bumper pads were a necessity to prevent them from wedging their heads between the spindles. Like Erika, my bumper pads tied onto the spindles and I never thought of them as dangerous.
